How alternatives differ from HP EliteDesk
HP EliteDesk Desktop Mini i5 16GB RAM
This HP EliteDesk 800 G2 Mini model upgrades your memory to 16GB of DDR4 RAM while keeping the same 240GB SSD storage. It runs Windows 11 Pro instead of the G2's Windows 10 Pro, offering a more modern interface and security updates. The chassis is slightly larger at 7.2 inches wide compared to the original's 6.9 inches. You gain smoother multitasking with the extra RAM, which helps when running multiple office applications simultaneously. However, you do not get a newer processor generation. This option suits users who need more memory headroom for business tasks without upgrading the CPU.
HP EliteDesk Mini Core i5 PC
This HP EliteDesk 800 G3 Mini steps up to a newer generation Intel Core i5 processor and includes 256GB of SSD storage, which is slightly larger than the original's 240GB drive. It ships with Windows 11 Pro, providing current software support and features. The unit weighs 2.67 pounds, making it lighter than the original 3.42-pound G2 Mini. You benefit from improved efficiency and modern operating system compatibility. The trade-off is that it retains 8GB of RAM, same as the base model. This choice is ideal for users who want a lighter, newer system for standard office duties without needing high-end performance.
Lenovo ThinkCentre Tiny Core i5 Desktop
The Lenovo ThinkCentre M92p Tiny offers a significantly different form factor, weighing only 1.6 ounces compared to the HP's 3.42 pounds. It features an Intel Core i5 processor and 8GB of RAM, matching the original's memory capacity. It runs Windows 10 Pro, similar to the base HP model. The compact dimensions make it easier to mount behind displays or in tight spaces. You gain extreme portability and a smaller footprint. However, you sacrifice the slightly larger internal volume of the HP for this ultra-compact design. This alternative fits users who prioritize minimal space usage and lightweight construction for their business desktop setup.
HP EliteDesk Mini Core i5 PC
This HP EliteDesk 800 G4 Mini uses an Intel Core i5-8500T hexa-core processor, which provides significantly more processing power than the original's quad-core i5-6500T. It includes 16GB of RAM and 256GB of SSD storage, offering more memory and slightly more space than the base model. It runs Windows 11 Pro for modern business features. The unit measures 7 inches wide and weighs 2.93 pounds, making it comparable in size to the original. You get robust multitasking capabilities for heavier workloads. The trade-off is the lack of focus on ultra-lightweight portability. This option suits users who need stronger performance for complex business applications.
Dell OptiPlex Micro Intel i5 Desktop
The Dell OptiPlex 3050 Micro uses an Intel Core i5-7500T processor, which is a step up from the original's sixth-generation chip. It includes 8GB of RAM and runs Windows 11 Pro, offering newer software support. The unit is slightly heavier at 4.1 pounds compared to the HP's 3.42 pounds. It measures 7.1 inches long, which is nearly identical to the original. You gain a reliable alternative from Dell with modern OS compatibility. However, it does not include visible storage specifications in the provided data, so capacity may vary. This choice is best for users who prefer Dell hardware for their compact home office or business environment.
Dell OptiPlex Micro Core i5 PC
The Dell OptiPlex 7070 Micro provides 16GB of RAM and 256GB of SSD storage, offering more memory and storage capacity than the original HP EliteDesk. It runs Windows 11 Pro for current business features. The unit weighs 6 pounds, making it considerably heavier than the HP's 3.42 pounds. It measures 7 inches wide, matching the original's width. You benefit from increased RAM for smoother multitasking and more drive space for files. The trade-off is the significant weight difference, which may matter for portable setups. This option is suitable for users who prioritize ample memory and storage in a stable business desktop configuration.
