Comparing the Top ThinkCentre Alternatives
HP EliteDesk Mini Intel Core i7
The HP EliteDesk 800 G5 upgrades computing power with an 8-core Intel Core i7 processor, doubling the 4-core count of the original ThinkCentre M910q. It includes dual DisplayPort connections and a VGA output, giving you flexible multi-monitor display options directly from the chassis. Both systems share 32GB of RAM, a 1TB SSD, and Windows 11 Pro. However, this model does not list specific chassis measurements like the 2 by 7 by 8-inch enclosure of the original. Choose this unit if you need higher multi-threaded processor performance and native support for legacy VGA alongside modern DisplayPort monitors.
Lenovo ThinkCentre Tiny Intel i7 32GB Desktop
This version of the ThinkCentre M910Q matches the original with an Intel Core i7 processor, 32GB of RAM, a 1TB SSD, and Windows 11 Pro. It distinguishes itself by specifying triple 4K monitor support, making multi-display workstation layouts straightforward. Its physical dimensions are documented at 7.2 inches wide, 1.36 inches tall, and 7.05 inches long with a 4-pound weight, presenting a slightly flatter profile than the 2-inch thickness of the original unit. You do not gain extra processing cores or added system memory here. Select this configuration if you require confirmed triple 4K output capabilities in a slim 1.36-inch desktop footprint.
Dell OptiPlex Micro i7 Desktop
The Dell OptiPlex 7090 MFF provides an 8-core Intel Core i7 processor, providing four additional cores compared to the 4-core i7-6700T in the original ThinkCentre. It features a lightweight chassis weighing 2.56 pounds and measuring 1.4 inches wide, 7.2 inches high, and 7 inches long, making it narrower than the 2-inch original. Both desktops provide 32GB of RAM, 1TB of solid-state storage, and Windows 11 Pro. It does not provide the exact NVMe M.2 designation listed for the original drive. Pick the OptiPlex 7090 MFF if your office multitasking demands higher CPU core counts in a lighter micro enclosure.
MSI Cubi 5 Core i7 Mini PC
The MSI Cubi 5 features a 10-core Intel Core i7-1255U processor, offering more than double the core count of the original 4-core i7-6700T. It adds modern Thunderbolt 4 connectivity and dual networking ports, giving you faster expansion options and redundant wired network connectivity. The chassis is substantially smaller at 4.4 by 4.6 inches and weighs 2.8 pounds, compared to the original 7 by 8-inch footprint. Both units match with 32GB of RAM, 1TB of SSD storage, and Windows 11 Pro. You give up the traditional enterprise desktop form factor. Choose the Cubi 5 for high-speed Thunderbolt peripheral connectivity and multi-core processing in a compact square design.
KAMRUI Core i7 32GB RAM Mini PC
The KAMRUI TK11-A0-1165G7 brings modern Thunderbolt 4 connectivity and biometric security built into a silver metal chassis. Measuring 5.43 by 5.43 inches with a 2.11-inch height, it takes up less desk space than the 7 by 8-inch footprint of the original ThinkCentre. Both systems carry an Intel Core i7 processor, 32GB of RAM, a 1TB SSD, and Windows 11 Pro. However, this mini PC does not list the specific core count or clock speeds found on the original i7-6700T specification sheet. Select this model if you need fast Thunderbolt expansion, hardware biometric login, and a square metal frame for your workspace.
Lenovo ThinkCentre Intel i5 32GB Mini PC
The Lenovo ThinkCentre M720Q trades the original’s Intel Core i7 processor for an Intel Core i5. Despite the processor shift, it retains the same generous 32GB of RAM, 1TB NVMe solid-state drive, and pre-installed Windows 11 Pro operating system. Its listed physical casing is larger, measuring 13.5 inches wide, 2.5 inches high, and 19 inches long with a volume of 328.125 cubic inches, contrasting with the 2 by 7 by 8-inch original. You trade away top-tier Core i7 processor throughput. Pick the M720Q if your daily office multitasking relies primarily on 32GB of system memory rather than heavy CPU compute performance.
