How the alternatives compare
HP EliteDesk Desktop Mini i5 16GB RAM
The HP EliteDesk 800 G2 Mini uses an older i5-6500T processor, which is significantly less powerful than the NUC 13 Pro’s 13th-gen i5-1340P. It offers 16GB of RAM but only 240GB of storage, half the capacity of the Waitloan model. This unit is best for users on a tight budget who need Windows 11 Pro for basic office tasks. You will get a compact footprint, but you sacrifice Thunderbolt 4 speed and modern networking features like WiFi 6E. It is a practical choice if raw performance is not your priority.
Dell OptiPlex Micro Core i5 PC
The Dell OptiPlex 7070 Micro features an i5-9500T processor, which provides stable performance for daily office work but lacks the multi-threading power of the NUC 13 Pro’s i5-1340P. It includes 16GB of RAM and runs Windows 11 Pro. Like the Waitloan model, it supports WiFi 6E, ensuring reliable wireless connectivity. However, it does not list Thunderbolt 4 support, limiting high-speed peripheral options. This mini PC is ideal for users who prioritize established business reliability and a familiar form factor over cutting-edge processing speeds or advanced I/O capabilities.
HP EliteDesk 800 G6 Mini PC with 1TB SSD
The HP EliteDesk 800 G6 Mini distinguishes itself with a large 1TB SSD, double the storage of the Waitloan ASUS NUC 13 Pro. It uses an i5-10500T processor, which is older than the 13th-gen chip in the NUC but still handles multitasking well. It includes 16GB of RAM and Windows 11 Pro. While it offers more storage space, you give up the Thunderbolt 4 ports and the newer WiFi 6E standard found on the NUC 13. This model suits users who need ample local storage for large files and do not require the latest connectivity features.
Lenovo ThinkCentre Tiny i5 WiFi 6E PC
The Lenovo ThinkCentre M720q Tiny is a compact option with an i5-8500T processor, which is less powerful than the NUC 13 Pro’s i5-1340P. It includes 16GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD, half the storage of the Waitloan model. Like the NUC 13, it supports WiFi 6E for modern wireless speeds. However, it lacks Thunderbolt 4 connectivity. This tiny PC is best for users who value a small physical footprint and reliable wireless performance for office tasks, but who do not need the high-speed data transfer options provided by Thunderbolt.
HP EliteDesk Mini Core i5 16GB Desktop
The HP EliteDesk 800 G3 Mini matches the Waitloan NUC 13 Pro with 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD. However, it uses an older i5-6500T processor, which is significantly slower than the 13th-gen i5-1340P. It runs Windows 11 Pro, offering the same operating system experience. This model is suitable for users who need the same storage capacity but are looking for a more affordable option with sufficient power for basic business applications. You will sacrifice modern processing speed and advanced features like Thunderbolt 4 for a lower-tier hardware configuration.
HP EliteDesk Mini Core i5 16GB
The HP EliteDesk 800 G3 Mini offers 16GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD, which is half the storage of the Waitloan NUC 13 Pro. It is powered by an i5-6500T processor, making it less capable for demanding tasks compared to the i5-1340P. It includes Windows 11 Pro for business compatibility. This unit is designed for users who need reliable dual-display support and stable performance for office multitasking. You will get a proven business form factor, but you give up the faster processor, larger storage, and modern connectivity options found in the NUC 13 Pro.
