Specifications side by side

How to choose the right one

1. Check processor needs

Your daily tasks dictate the required CPU power. Basic web browsing and document editing work well with Intel Core i3 or Core 3 chips. These processors handle light home office duties efficiently. If you plan to multitask or manage larger media files, look for an Intel Core i7. The MSI Cubi 5 Premium i7 Mini PC offers robust processing for heavier workloads. Match the processor tier to your actual usage to avoid paying for unused speed.

2. Match RAM to tasks

Memory determines how many applications you can run simultaneously. Eight gigabytes of RAM suits basic home office use and single-monitor setups. It handles everyday productivity tasks without lag. Sixteen gigabytes provides a smoother experience for multi-monitor workflows and heavier multitasking. The MSI Cubi 5 Core i3 Mini PC includes 16GB RAM for these demanding office loads. Choose higher memory if you keep many browser tabs or programs open at once.

3. Evaluate storage capacity

Storage size affects how much data you can keep locally. A 256GB SSD is sufficient for the operating system and a few essential apps. It keeps the system responsive for standard home use. Larger drives like 500GB or 1TB accommodate extensive media libraries and numerous files. The MSI Cubi 5 Premium i7 Mini PC features a 1TB SSD for ample space. Select storage based on your collection of photos, videos, and documents.

4. Verify operating system

The installed OS impacts available features and management tools. Windows 11 Pro offers advanced security and remote management capabilities useful for home offices. It supports features like BitLocker and domain joining. Standard Windows 11 provides a familiar interface for general home entertainment and browsing. The MSI Cubi 5 models include Windows 11 Pro for enhanced utility. Check the OS version to ensure it meets your specific software and security requirements.

5. Assess networking options

Modern Wi-Fi standards improve connection stability and speed. Wi-Fi 6E offers faster data rates and less interference in crowded wireless environments. It is ideal for streaming high-quality media or video calls. Wi-Fi 7 provides the latest connectivity standards for future-proofing your setup. The MSI Cubi NUC AI+ Core 7 Mini PC supports Wi-Fi 7. Choose a model with the appropriate wireless standard to match your home network infrastructure.

6. Consider form factor

Physical dimensions determine where you can place the device. Compact models fit easily on desks or behind monitors. The MSI Cubi NUC AI+ Core 7 Mini PC is notably thin, measuring just 1.48 inches in height. This small footprint is ideal for VESA-mounted setups or tight spaces. Larger models like the standard Cubi 5 offer slightly more interior space. Measure your available area to ensure the chosen mini PC fits comfortably in your home environment.
