How these alternatives compare
Lenovo ThinkCentre Tiny Core i5 Mini PC
The Lenovo ThinkCentre Tiny Core i5 Mini PC offers 32GB of DDR5 RAM, which is double the memory of the MSI Cubi NUC AI+. This makes it better for heavy multitasking and office workflows that demand more headroom. However, it relies on Wi-Fi 6 instead of Wi-Fi 7 and lacks Thunderbolt 4 connectivity. Its chassis is also wider at 7.2 inches compared to the MSI’s 4.54 inches. If you prioritize memory capacity and business reliability over the latest wireless standards and ultra-compact footprint, this Lenovo model is a stronger choice for professional environments.
ASUS NUC 14 Pro Tall Mini PC
The ASUS NUC 14 Pro Tall Mini PC provides 32GB of RAM and a slightly larger chassis at 2.13 inches tall. This extra height allows for toolless upgrades and better thermal management than the sealed MSI design. It retains Thunderbolt 4 support and offers a Core Ultra 7 processor, matching the MSI’s performance tier. The trade-off is size; it is not as tiny as the 0.51L MSI Cubi. If you need upgrade access and higher memory capacity while maintaining premium connectivity, this ASUS model suits users who value expandability over minimal physical dimensions.
MSI Cubi NUC Intel Core 7 32GB Mini PC
The MSI Cubi NUC Intel Core 7 32GB Mini PC keeps the same brand identity but upgrades RAM to 32GB and uses Wi-Fi 6E. It is larger and heavier at 3.17 pounds, sacrificing the ultra-light portability of the original. It lacks Wi-Fi 7 but offers dual LAN ports for network flexibility. This model fits users who need more memory and wired networking options without switching brands. It gives up the latest wireless standard and compact weight for greater processing headroom and a familiar MSI design language.
BASOARO Industrial Mini PC i5-1235U
The BASOARO Industrial Mini PC i5-1235U targets factory automation with serial ports and dual LAN, features the MSI Cubi NUC lacks entirely. It offers 32GB of RAM but uses an older Intel Core i5 processor and Wi-Fi 6. It is significantly larger at 8.66 inches long and heavier at 3.09 pounds. This model gives up modern consumer features like Thunderbolt 4 and Wi-Fi 7. It is the correct choice for industrial settings requiring specific I/O connectivity rather than general office productivity or compact desktop use.
Lenovo ThinkCentre Intel i5 32GB Mini PC
The Lenovo ThinkCentre Intel i5 32GB Mini PC provides 32GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD for home office multitasking. It uses an older Intel Core i5 processor and lacks Thunderbolt 4 and Wi-Fi 7. Its dimensions are much larger, making it less suitable for tight VESA mounts. It offers solid performance for standard tasks but sacrifices modern connectivity and compact size. If you prioritize memory capacity and storage speed over cutting-edge networking and a tiny footprint, this Lenovo model serves as a practical home office alternative.
Dell OptiPlex Micro Core i5 Desktop
The Dell OptiPlex Micro Core i5 Desktop offers 32GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD for office multitasking. It uses an Intel Core i5 processor and lacks Thunderbolt 4 and Wi-Fi 7. Its chassis is larger than the MSI Cubi NUC, measuring 13.3 inches wide. It provides stable performance for standard business applications but gives up modern connectivity features. This model is ideal for users who need reliable capacity and stability for office work without requiring the latest wireless standards or ultra-compact form factor.
